OUR MISSION

The mission of STOP CMV AZ is to educate the public about congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV), support the children and families impacted by cCMV, and advocate for those who need our voice in the state of Arizona.

FOUNDING MEMBERS

Kathleen Muldoon smiling woman with glasses

Dr. Muldoon earned her PhD in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis. She is Associate Professor of Anatomy at Midwestern University, Glendale, AZ, where she teaches anatomy, embryology and humanity in medicine. Dr. Muldoon is the the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee at the National CMV Foundation and a member of several professional and state committees for diversity advocacy and disability services. She is the proud mother of three children: her son Gideon has multiple disabilities due to congenital CMV.

Ms. Selbst is the Executive Director of The Ear Foundation of Arizona (EFAz). She has more than 30 years of experience working in public health in Arizona, with a focus on family, women, and children’s health services, promoting public health agendas both programmatically and through policy. She has coordinated legislative efforts for education, advocacy, and collaboration between governmental and non-governmental organizations including parents, physicians, and others.

Dr. Page is a physician in the Division of Otolaryngology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He received his MD from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, completed his otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Children's Specialists of San Diego, Rady Children's Hospital. He strongly supports multidisciplinary care for children who have complex health care needs.

Dr. Dobson earned his PhD in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis. He is currently a marketing data scientist for a major pet food company. He has industry expertise as a data analyst in financial services, telecommunications, and marketing technology. Before joining the corporate world, Dr. Dobson was Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Dartmouth College. He lives in sunny Phoenix with his family. His middle son was born with congenital CMV and is multiply-disabled as a result.
