“A virus had ravaged his small body… and we never even had a clue.”

Shortly after birth, Seth was whisked away to the newborn nursery with evidence of an infection. “Do you have cats?” became a popular question. No, we don’t have cats. Please don’t ask us that anymore. After a week, Seth was diagnosed with congenital CMV. Congenital means “born with”. Our son had contracted a virus while still in the safety of the womb. A virus had ravaged his small body… and we never even had a clue.

We couldn’t understand it. What would this mean for our precious boy?

Seth has had many surgeries and therapies. There are so many things we cannot “fix”, but cCMV does not define Seth’s life. He is beautiful, precious, and an amazing gift from God.
