“I had what we thought was a common cold but it lasted 2 whole months!”

We were so excited to be pregnant! In October, I had what we thought was a common cold but it lasted 2 whole months! Doctors said not to worry. Around 20 weeks gestation we were told Parker had irregular fluid in his belly. A few short weeks later we found out that this was caused by CMV and immediately told to terminate. We couldn’t do that. We had to fight for my baby! 

The answers and outcomes were so unknown and it was scary! From seeing many different doctors and even traveling to Minnesota for a specialist to consuming our time with research (to show my doctors who were unaware), we did everything we could. 

On February 4th, 2020 at 32 weeks gestation, we lost our sweet boy. His sister, Peyton, was so ready to take care of him and was a part of our journey every step of the way. CMV has changed our family forever.
